Vegan Pumpkin Banana Bread

If you Love Bananas, Pumpkin and Dark Chocolate then this is right up your alley. Best yet is that it’s Organic, Vegan and Gluten Free but doesn’t sacrifice on flavor or texture. Of course you can substitute non organic or regular flour but that’s just not me!! I personally always make a double batch because I usually have that many over ripe bananas… plus this freezes extremely well… you can give one away and keep another for another occasion. My tip of the day… when I bring a dish or dessert for a dinner at a friend or relative – well to make the dish even more special… I buy a new ceramic dish and present it as a gift to keep! I promise it will leave the Hostess with a Huge Smile.

Italian Pizzelles

In the early 1920’s during the depression when money was scarce, Italian mothers and grandmothers would make Biscotti’s,Pizzelles and Struffoli as gifts for family and children. Amazing what flour, sugar and time spent in the kitchen could do to put huge smiles on little ones faces. I think even in today’s fast paced, fast food culture this is still a treasure – nothing shows you care as does something homebaked. This recipe calls for a batter like dough that is baked on a pizzelle iron. Powdered sugar adds a touch of elegance. The Italian version calls for Anise in place of Vanilla. I actually make batches of all 3 flavors.
